Meet Our Care Managers
Michelle McCain, RN, MSN, CCM
Michelle brings over 30 years of experience in nursing to Care Choice, including Private Practice, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics and Care Management. Michelle enjoys working with individuals and their families to meet their needs, whether they need information on community resources, assistance arranging care for an elderly parent or loved one, and/or need someone to advocate for them. She believes it is a privilege to provide services for others, work with individuals and families to improve their quality of life and assist with their transitional needs and/or their immediate care.
Michelle received her Associates in Nursing from Jefferson College in 1986, her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Missouri Baptist College in 1996, and her Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001. Michelle went on for her certification as a CCM, a Certified Care Manager.
Starting her career working as a staff nurse on an inpatient psychiatric hospital unit, Michelle was eventually promoted to Nurse Manager. She has spent most of her career working in Management overseeing Geriatric/Adult/Adolescent/Pediatric Psychiatric and Acute Rehab Units. She has also enjoyed working as a Clinical Nurse Educator, Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse, Telephonic Case Manager as well as working as a Family Nurse Practitioner for a Family Practice Physician.
Above all, Michelle has been an advocate for her patients/clients, their families, her staff/colleagues, and the community at large, especially those who could not navigate the health care/mental health system at a time when they were most vulnerable.
