She has earned a specialty certification through the National Association of Social Workers as a Clinical Social Worker in Gerontology and is a member of the Aging Life Care Association. Jessica has spent the last several years in nephrology social work, providing support to adults receiving dialysis in the clinic setting to manage end-stage kidney disease. She also advocated tirelessly to improve her St. Louis area dialysis clinics patients’ access to kidney transplant, and in doing so, witnessed several patients go on to receive their own. With a background in medical social work in areas such as hospice, home care needs assessment, & chronic disease case management she’s well rounded in working with a variety of clientele, and welcomes a challenge as an interdisciplinary team member.
Jessica is familiar with the intricacies of both state & federal public benefit programs like Medicare, Medicaid (MO HealthNet), & SSI/SSDI, as well as navigating long term care insurance and pooled income trusts. She has years of experience educating older adults on advance care planning, ensuring they have access to & an understanding of how state-specific health care directives can communicate their values and goals for medical care.
Jessica is a lifelong learner with a voracious appetite for educational opportunities, and works hard to apply her clinical knowledge in an approachable down to earth manner. Most recently, she completed a FEMA-sponsored emergency preparedness training program to become a volunteer of the St. Louis Regional Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Anchored by her values in community care & mutual aid efforts, Jessica strives to provide an inclusive and affirming environment for all. In her downtime, she finds joy in creating flower arrangements, listening to audiobooks, and keeping her cats entertained.
