Meet Our Care Managers

Kate Massot, MA

Specializes in:

  • Implementing holistic approaches for seniors to regain and maintain independence
  • Advocating for seniors in their long-term care home
  • Coordinating care plans and services for seniors as care needs arise
  • Facilitating and mediating for seniors
Kate is passionate and committed to empowering senior adults to live their best lives in the face of challenges that can come with aging. Since 2005, she has been working with seniors and their families as they encounter physical and mental health needs and as they navigate resources to help maintain as much independence and meaning to their lives as possible. As a service coordinator in senior housing for over 15 years, she has guided seniors through hospitalizations, rehab, home health, and home care services, providing emotional support and educating them on their care options. Kate’s background in advocacy, education, and community engagement shapes her holistic, person-centered approach, with priority placed on respecting the clients’ aspirations for his/her life. Having worked with clients from both sides of the income spectrum, Kate can assist with acquiring low income benefits as well as out of pocket care service options.

Although Kate’s early career was as a high school English teacher, her love of and response for one’s story still plays a key role in her approach to helping seniors. Understanding that she is entering into someone’s life when there has already been a full, rich lifetime of experiences, relationships and wisdom gained is essential to approaching her clients ready to listen and learn. Understanding some of the main themes of a person’s life can help shape the best care plane for that person.

Kate is an avid runner, and enjoys many creative endeavors including cooking, gardening, and attending art and music festivals.
